You may not have made it out to todays meeting with the Bogan Rd construction crew. The biggest concerns that were voiced was the safety of the entrance and how long it would stay the way it is and what we could do to make it more safe during this temporary road transition.
I was told that should the weather be good they expect to have the road back to normal in 40 days. I think that is going to be difficult considering the weather we have been having and what the weather report is expecting in the mere future.
I was told that everything will be returned back to the way it was before and the only difference that I came away with is that Bogan Rd would have the hill in the corner shaved down to allow for better visibility when coming around the corner. I am not sure that all this effort and compromise to the safety of our neighborhood is justified in their reasoning.
The main contact for this project is Casey Graham, P.E. and because of all the correspondence he is getting from residents of Quail Creek we have all agreed (those at todays meeting) that I could be the liaison between him and the questions from our residents.
Any information that you have about the front entrance I would like you to send me personally at paul@perduevision.com or in the NEXTDoor feed. Please let me now what you think about the new website.
This website is going to offer information about our neighborhood to residents and future potential residents. It will also serve as an online secure portal where residents can pay?contribute to the front entrance maintenance.
After the project with Bogan Rd is completed, I was told that they are going to cover the cost of repairing the landscaping on Lois Alverson’s side of the road. That is property next to the entrance lane to our neighborhood for those who do not know Lois. They are wiling to do this because the damage to the landscaping was within their easement. The property on Lisa’s side where they tore down bushes and trees was on her property and they are not willing to repair that side of the entrance.
We will be planning to have the neighborhood entrance brought back to par after everything is said and done. We want to hear your suggestions and recommendations. I was told that the Environmental Heritage Center could be helpful in recommending bushes and trees that are indigenous to the area so we can get the best longevity and health from them. We will also need to budget for these expenses and initiate a funding campaign so when it is time to revitalize the entrance, we will have the funds available from your contributions.
Be sure when you are pulling out of the neighborhood that you use extreme caution when turning left or right because of the short visibility.
